What we store
Only what's needed for Memra to work: your sets, items, study sessions, the SRS schedule we compute from them, and any settings you flip. Anonymous accounts hold all of this server-side under a cookie-bound id so you can use the app without signing up.
What we don't do
We don't run third-party analytics or ad trackers. We don't sell data. We don't read the contents of imported files for anything other than turning them into typing items.
First-party analytics
We count anonymous page views and a handful of usage events
(study sessions, account upgrades, import completions, server
errors) using Cloudflare's Workers Analytics Engine. This runs inside
our own Cloudflare account — no third party ever sees the
events. The per-visitor identifier we emit is a truncated
SHA-256 of your session id (16 hex chars); it lets us count
distinct visitors without anyone — including us — being able to
map it back to a specific user. We honor the DNT and Sec-GPC request headers: if your browser sends
either, no analytics event is written for your request.
AI generation
When you click "Generate with Claude", the source text and the prompt template are sent to Anthropic's API. Anthropic's privacy terms apply to that round-trip. We log token counts but not the content of your generations.
Account upgrade
Adding a passkey binds your anonymous account to an email address and the public-key credential your authenticator created. We never see your private key (it stays on your device). The email is used only to identify your account.
Deleting your data
Mail us and we'll wipe every row tied to your user id. We don't keep deleted-row tombstones. (Phase 5: a self-serve delete button replaces this paragraph.)
